One less car

Well we did it, or I should say Marc did it. We took his car to CarMax last night and he sold it. He has been riding the bus for 2 weeks and oddly enough he is loving it. Although what's not to love in some ways. A 30 minute ride where you can relax and get lost in your thoughts rather than yelling at those around you for going too slow, driving too fast, cutting you off, talking on the cell phone... When you put it like that it actually sounds kind of nice. For the past couple weeks Marc has been riding the bus as a trial run, to make sure it worked before he committed to it for good. At first Andrew was really confused when we looked outside and would see Marc's car sitting on the driveway. We talked about daddy riding on the bus, but he would still search the house for him, not quite sure what all this meant. Nowadays, Andrew looks outside, sees the car on the drive, and oh so matter of factly says. "Daddy no here, daddy ride the bus." Such a smart little guy. Andrew went with us last night of course, and he wasn't so sure about the whole process. While Marc was cleaning out his car last night, I told Andrew we were going to take daddy to the store to sell the car. He must have heard that we were selling daddy, because he flipped out when we got ready to go. I put Andrew in my car, while Marc drove his. The whole time I was buckling him in he kept yelling "Daddy ride Mommy car. Daddy ride blue car. No ride daddy car." Thankfully with a bowl full of dry cereal and The Wiggles pumping through the car after a few minutes he had forgotten all about it, and we enjoyed a nice singalong in the car while driving to CarMax.

Playing Dressup

We have entered a new phase in the house...playing dress up. It began quite simply with wearing a tie occasionally or putting on my shoes, and of course lots of hats. This week he has really branched out. He's been raiding the laundry basket and pretending to be "daddy", wearing his T-shirts and even his boxers. Click on the link below and you can check out Andrew's newest ensemble--a firefighter. http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewalbum.html?alb=142880

Fun In the Sun

We had a fun afternoon playing outside! Here are a few snapshots--look at that cheesy smile! I love it!

It Had to Happen Sometime

What is it about being 2 that requires an angry toddler to lie on the floor and scream and cry? Not even a week into being 2 years old and Andrew had to test out this new right and responsibility of his. He looks like a natural doesn't he?

The cause of this fit you ask: He wanted a glass of milk to drink with his banana pudding!

The best part of it all is that after 20 minutes I told him he could either go to his room and cry or go sit at the table and eat his snack. Just like that he popped up off the floor, turned off the tears and sat down to eat his snack. Oh, if only I had done this 15 minutes earlier. Lesson learned for next time!

Andrew's Parade

We hope everyone had a fun and fabulous 4th! Andrew had a fun time getting ready for the 4th and put on his very own 1 man parade--marching around the yard.
