Watering the garden

We planted a veggie garden a couple weeks ago and it is starting to sprout. Watering it every morning has been added to Andrew and I's list of chores and he is taking this job very seriously. He loves helping out, well really he loves playing in the water, but he calls it helping. One of his favorite things about watering the gardens is watching Ellie jump and snap at the water stream coming out of the hose. I have never heard such belly laughs out of him. He is still quite perplexed by the hose sprayer and how it works. He has spent several days exploring it... Here are a few pictures from this afternoon. (don't worry the water is off).

Andrew-isms

One of the things I love most about toddlers is the funny little things they say. Andrew is exploding with them right now. Here are a few of our favs:bacon--or as we call them tongschay chay--fire truckblanken (blanket)boo koo (peekaboo)And if in doubt of just what to say in a situation the trusty favorite "big truck".I suppose it fits any situation in his world and is guaranteed to start a conversation!

Earth Day....Andrew's Way

We finally had our first nice day outside, Hooray! Andrew was having such a fun time playing in the dogs water bowl, that we gave him his own tub to play with. Check out what happened...

Make a photobook - it's easy!

a pictures worth a thousand words...

Isn't it funny how out of a hundred pictures one just grabs you. For me this simple photo is one of those pictures. I don't know what it is about it, but I just love it. There is nothing fancy or funny about it, in fact I think it was an "oops" photo, but when I see it my heart just melts. Maybe it's that it captures his sweetness and innocence. Maybe it shows his quirky personality with the silly green hat. Or maybe it's that I just want to remember those sweet rosy cheeks and that little bit of baby fat he has left that makes him my baby boy and not the little boy that he is quickly growing into.

Choo Choo Baby!

It was a rainy day on Tuesday and we needed out of the house. Andrew, Gramma, Grampa and I met Marc for lunch at Fritz's, the train restaurant. This place is fabulous for kids and Andrew was finally old enough to "get it". Trains run around the top of the restaurant on a track delivering your food to your table. Every time a train leaves the kitchen the whistle blows. It was a busy day at Fritz's and the trains were working overtime. As you can imagine Andrew had a grand time, and came close to giving himself a case of whiplash from watching all of the trains zipping around. They even gave him his very own conductor's hat!

Modern Art or Type A?

Mary, Marc's mom, was upstairs playing with Andrew when she called down the stairs this afternoon and said, "You have to see what your son is doing". I went upstairs and this is what I found.

Andrew was very diligently pulling hangers out of the closet one at a time and hanging them on the dresser. He worked at this for quite some time--until all the hangers were on the dresser and all the drawer handles were full. He was was very proud of his work!

MMMM....Donuts!

Andrew and I got up early yesterday to take Marc to work (his car is in the shop). On the way home we stopped at the store and got a treat. Andrew loved it!
